    • Sailors With a Disability Program runs each Tuesday and Thursday except in Foul weather conditions.   See www.facebook.com/cyc sailors with a disability.  A group of people from Endeavour Foundation along with their carers will join this program from next Tuesday starting at 1pm till 3pm. This will be followed by our regular crew at 3.30 pm till 5.30pm on each Tuesday. We will need more help at these times and invite volunteers who will learn how to operate all of the equipment to join us for fun, sailing, and skills development. Who do you know who can help out?     • Fee Schedule amendments:  This year due to limited and increasingly overburdened resources, we have had to make some necessary changes to our pricing policy.  Please click here for more information from the CYC Executive Committee.
    • CYC Sailing Memberships:  John Pool, CYC Commodore wishes to advise that due to car park card processing delays, your old cards will remain active until further notice.  Please stayed tuned for further updates.  Membership renewals for the 2015-16 financial year may be made by returning your completed Membership form along with payment to the CYC office.  Thank you!
    • CYC Office Open Hours:  Due to current administrative time demands, the CYC office open hours have been temporarily reduced until further notice.  Please see below for current opening times:

  • Opportunity to Make Some Easy Moula:  Shelley Bennett, a photographer from Canberra, will be visiting Cairns soon and would like to hire a wooden dinghy (without motor) for a 2hr photo shoot.  Shelley is offering $100 to make your dinghy a star.  If interested please call Shelley on 0407 660 501.

  • IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL CYC MEMBERS: This year due to limited and increasingly overburdened resources, we have had to make some necessary changes to our pricing policy.  These are as follows:
    • Car Park Cards are now available only to active and participating members, at a cost of $50 per member/per year.
    • Pontoon tender access is available to those who would like this option, at a rate of $150 per member/per year.
    • Yachting Queensland Silver Cards are again optional, and priced at $70 per member/per year. 
    • Overnight vessel berthing on the CYC Pontoon is now charged at a flat-rate of $30 per vessel/per night.  One free night per day of racing (either side of race day) still applies.

  • Dinghy Sailing:  Will be held Saturday at 8:30am.  All welcome.

  • Whitsunday Laser Sail Training Camp:  Held at the Whitsunday Sailing Club on the 9th/10th May. This training is an amazing opportunity for  recreational sailors and aspiring athletes to enhance and fine-tune their sailing skills under the guidance of North Queensland’s top tier sailing coach, Danny Fuller.  Please click on title link for more information.

  • Trespass Notices:  Notices were issued recently due to overcrowding on the dinghy tie-up section of the pontoon.  If you are a current member and received one of these notices last week, please attach (or make more visible from the pontoon) a current (2014-15) sticker.  Come and see me (Lisa) in the office if you do not have one.  Also please ensure your vehicles are displaying a current sticker – car park notices appearing soon!  Thanks in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
  • YQ Membership:  If you held this membership prior to renewing your CYC membership for 2014-15, please advise me (via email) of your membership expiry date so I can re-register you under their “My Club” System from that date onwards.  Thank you.

  • The Mickey Ink Port Douglas Race Week:  Will be held 24th-29th May, 2015.  The Micky Ink Port Douglas Race Week is held over Port Douglas’s Carnivale, so it is a fabulous time to be in Port Douglas, the town comes alive with a plethora of events and of course the regatta is the highlight.  Please see title link for Notice of Race.
